You can buy a proofer bowl on Amazon for $200 or more, or you can make your own with your electric heating pad if you already own a heating pad.
Baking bread in the winter can be a challenge for a home cook. With cold weather, we may see our dough take longer to rise, or not rise at all if too cold.

All you need is 1 large bowl, a smaller bowl that can fit inside of the large bowl and a heating pad.
Your dough should be in the smaller bowl, covered. Place the smaller bowl in the large, with the heating pad in-between, this set up is your proofer.
Turn the heating pad on to your desired level of heat and watch your dough rise in the warmth.
This method is great for baking with yeast.
Today I’m waiting on fry bakes dough to rise to make Caribbean fry bakes for a warm winter breakfast. My mom puts yeast in her bakes dough, some people just use baking powder.
Try this proofing rig and let me know what you think in comments. My dough is double the size it was in less than 20 minutes.

Here are the bakes I made with this dough!
